As per a report from WABetaInfo, a site that tracks WhatsApp, each time you log in to the account from a different device or reinstall it on the same device, you will see an “import” option.
WABetaInfo said: “We don’t know why WhatsApp has decided to create another option to restore a backup, but it may be useful when you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection and a local backup that has automatically been created by WhatsApp, so you can export a backup to import it later.
The report said that the rollout timeline of the feature is not yet confirmed. The release date of beta testers is also not out yet.
